The British actor David Oyelowo is set to star in a revealing thriller which enters production imminently.

One-time Film Stories magazine cover star David Oyelowo has signed up to star in Role Play, a ‘high-concept thriller’ which is set to shoot in Berlin next month. The Selma star will be starring opposite Kaley Cuoco, best known for her work in TV’s The Big Bang Theory.

According to Deadline, ‘Role Play centres around a married couple whose life turns upside down when secrets come out about each other’s pasts. Oyelowo will play Cuoco’s husband in the film.’

At present, it looks like Amazon are in pole position to land the project, with the studio said to be looking to secure American rights as well as snagging the rights for several other major territories.

Cuoco is producing the film through her Yes Norman banner, as well as starring. Thomas Vincent, director of 2020’s Possessions will be helming the film which is based on an original screenplay by Seth Owen.

Oyelowo has been very prolific of late, making his own directorial debut last year with The Water Man and featuring in a clutch of projects since, for both the large and the small screen. We’re onboard for whatever he chooses to do and a high-concept thriller sounds like a fun prospect indeed. We’ll bring you more on Role Play as we hear it.
