Kenneth Branagh’s Death On The Nile film is back on the release schedule, and a trailer has dropped too.

Of all the films affected by the original wave of cancellations, following the emergence of the pandemic, Death On The Nile is the one that seems to have been pushed back the most, not least because one of its stars, Armie Hammer, has since been caught up in the middle of serious allegations regarding his behaviour.

Originally set for release in the autumn of 2020, Kenneth Branagh’s second big screen Hercule Poirot adaptation Death On The Nile has been delayed a couple of times, before being moved by Disney to February 11th 2022. This is likely because the company were unsure how to proceed because Hammer features prominently in its extensive cast. The actor is facing a serious investigation by the Los Angeles Police Department confirming he’s a “named suspect in an alleged sexual assault investigation”.

Disney has played down Hammer’s presence in the trailer, but that won’t be so easy when the film itself releases. Annette Bening, Letitia Wright, Russell Brand, Dawn French, Jennifer Saunders, Rose Leslie, Tom Bateman, Sophie Okonedo, Emma Mackey and Ali Fazal all co-star in the film, alongside of course, Kenneth Branagh.

You can catch the trailer below, ahead of the film’s February launch.
