Two things: there is indeed a Deep Blue Sea 3 coming out! And here’s the trailer for it, that’s just been released.

Appreciating that some of you out there may not have been aware that there was a Deep Blue Sea 2but indeed there was! – this summer Warner Bros is debuting the third film in the series.

Deep Blue Sea 3 stars Nathaniel Buzolic, Emerson Brooks, Tania Raymonde, Bren Foster and Siya Mayola, and it’s directed by John Pogue. He previously helmed the The Skulls and The Quiet Ones, and here he’s working from a screenplay by Dirk Blackman.

The first trailer for the new movie has landed, and here’s a taste as to what’s in store…

Here’s the synopsis…

Emma Collins, an eminent marine biologist, and her crew have set up a mid-ocean laboratory over a sunken island town in the ocean where they are observing the first known Great White mating area. Unfortunately, the enhanced Bull Sharks that escaped in Deep Blue Sea 2 are also there with their own evolutionary goal: cross-breeding with the bigger, faster Great Whites. The mission’s patron, Richard Lowell, believes that the Bull Sharks contain the key to intelligence enhancement, which he secretly intends to sell for big profits. Now, Emma and her crew are trapped on crumbling stilt houses mere feet over the ocean, caught between predators above and below the water.

And the film is with us at the end of July on digital HD we understand, with a UK disc release now up for preorder on August 24th.
