Plans are afoot for a sequel to the 2018 action thriller, with financing expected to be secured for Den Of Thieves 2.

It looks like we’ll be getting the prmosied sequel to the 2018 heist movie Den Of Thieves, with Deadline reporting that the project is gearing up for a spring production in both France and Serbia. Writer and director Christian Gudegast is returning, and Gerard Butler, O’Shea Jackson and Meadow Williams will all be reprising their roles too.

Having plotted to rob the Federal Reserve Bank in the first film, this time the crew will be aiming for an equally-impossible take, with Butler’s Big Nick, ‘this time on the hunt in Europe for Donnie (Jackson Jr.) who is embroiled in the dangerous world of diamond thieves and the infamous Panther mafia as they plot a massive heist of the world’s biggest diamond exchange.’

Whilst distribution in a few international markets have already been secured, most are still up for sale, as is distribution in the US. The upcoming European Film Market is likely to see distribution rights fully secured, and whilst there’s no word yet of a potential release date, the fact that we’ll be getting a sequel will be welcome news to fans of the original (and it’s a better film than you might think, we’d suggest), which earned $80m worldwide when it released in 2018. We’ll bring you updates on this one as we hear them.
