John Boyega is to headline the film Naked Singularity, and more details of the production – as well as a first image – have been issued.

The brilliant, brilliant John Boyega is heading back to the big screen soon in the film Naked Singularity, and a few new details of the project have come to light.

The movie stars Boyega alongside Olivia Cooke, Linda Lavin, Tim Blake Nelson, Bill Skarsgard and Ed Skrein. Furthermore, it’s written by Chase Palmer and David Matthews, adapting the book of the same name by Sergio De La Pava. Palmer also makes his directorial debut with the feature.

The film tells the story of Boyega’s character, a rising talent in the New York public defenders’ officer. But he has growing doubts about the work he’s doing when he finds himself suspended following losing a case. His life then gets another shake-up when a young defendant – played by Cooke – enters his life.

The film is heading to the Cannes Film Festival’s virtual markets over the coming days to try and secure distribution around the world, and so it’s unclear yet just when we’ll get to see the film. The first image from it has been released, though, and that’s what you can see at the top of this article.

More on the movie as we hear it.
