The long awaited sequel to Enchanted, Disenchanted, has started production.

Disenchanted is officially underway, with Disney tweeting a photo of star Amy Adams and director Adam Shankman on set. The sequel to the 2007 fairy-tale has been long rumoured but is officially premiering on Disney+ in 2022.

The tweet was followed up by more messages confirming cast members from the original film Patrick Dempsey, James Marsden, Idina Menzel as well as announcing new stars Maya Rudolph, Yvette Nicole Brown, Jayma Mays, Kolton Stewart and Oscar Nunez. They also tweeted a video of Gabby Baldacchino who will be taking over the role of Morgan, originally played by Rachel Covey, as she learns she has won the role.

Rudolph, Brown and Mays are set to play villains in the film. The plot, according to IMDB, is below.

Ten years after her happily ever after, Giselle questions her happiness, inadvertently turning the lives of those in the real world and Andalasia upside down in the process.

It’s been 14 years since the first film, but it looks like we’re finally going to see what happens after ever after. I can’t wait.
