Robert Downey Jr takes on the role of Dr Dolittle, and the latest trailer for Dolittle has landed.

A project that seems to have had a fair amount of trouble during production is the delayed Dolittle, starring Robert Downey Jr in the title role. As you may gleam from the title, this is a telling of the Dr Dolittle story, and Universal is backing the project.

It’s directed by Syriana helmed Stephen Gaghan, with a cast that also includes Michael Sheen, Jim Broadbent, Jessie Buckley, John Cena, Harry Collett, Marion Cotillard, Frances de la Tour, Carmen Ejogo, Ralph Fiennes, Selena Gomez, Tom Holland, Rami Malek, Kumail Nanjiani, Craig Robinson, Octavia Spencer and Emma Thompson. Let’s firmly say that it’s not shy of a decent ensemble.

The final trailer for the movie popped up whilst we were away on our seasonal break. And it looks like this…

Back in October, the first trailer for the film launched, which looks like this…

And in December, we got a video of some animal auditions. You’re very welcome.

Here’s the official synopsis for the film…

After losing his wife seven years earlier, the eccentric Dr. John Dolittle (Downey), famed doctor and veterinarian of Queen Victoria’s England, hermits himself away behind the high walls of Dolittle Manor with only his menagerie of exotic animals for company. But when the young queen (Jessie Buckley, Wild Rose) falls gravely ill, a reluctant Dolittle is forced to set sail on an epic adventure to a mythical island in search of a cure, regaining his wit and courage as he crosses old adversaries and discovers wondrous creatures.

The movie lands in cinemas in February 2020.
