Dolly Parton’s Run, Rose, Run is being adapted to film

The rights to the Dolly Parton’s debut thriller have been snapped up, with Reese Witherspoon producing the film of Run Rose Run.

Is there anything Dolly Parton can’t do? Famed singer, actress, philanthropist and now author Dolly Parton’s debut novel is heading to cinemas. Co-written with thriller maestro James Patterson and released earlier this year, Run Rose, Run is the story of an aspiring country singer who heads to Nashville and is taken under the wing of a successful star, They each discover that the lyrics of their heart-wrenching songs are hiding secrets they have both tried to hide.

Reese Witherspoon will produce though her production company Hello Sunshine, whose latest film adaptation Where The Crawdads Sing is due to be released in the UK on the 22nd July.

Parton will also star in the film as well as write original songs. A production date has yet to be set. We’ll keep you posted as we hear more.
