A first look image from the upcoming sequel Don’t Breathe 2 has been released.
We finally have our first look at Don’t Breathe 2, courtesy of USAToday.
The first film followed a trio of teenagers who break into the home of a reclusive blind man. What they find within the house, they could not have expected. The lead of the original film Jane Levy will not be returning, however, the film’s villain, The Blind Man is back and will act as the central focus for the sequel.
Don’t Breathe 2 will pick up with The Blind Man living in a secluded cabin, raising a young girl orphaned by a fire. When the young girl is kidnapped, he is forced to leave their home to save her.
It’s a curious change from the original films home invasion narrative, but anyone who has seen the original knows there’s a lot more to that film than a home invasion. It’s also somewhat horror tradition for the villain to become the focal point of a franchise, so it’s no surprise the creative team behind the sequel have focussed on The Blind Man, played by Stephen Lang. Who knows, maybe he’ll even get a name in this film!
Don’t Breathe 2 is scheduled for release on the 13th August 2021 in the United States and many other countries. We’ll keep you updated when a UK date is announced. You can watch Don’t Breathe on Amazon Prime Video, as well as purchase it on DVD and Blu-ray disc.
