Downton Abbey 2 is heading into cinemas this March – and Universal has started to take the wraps off the upcoming sequel.

Arriving in cinemas in March – having been postponed from its original planned December 2021 release date – is the second Downton Abbey movie. It’s called Downton Abbey: A New Era, and as the title suggests, it brings together new members of the ensemble to join some more familiar returnees.

As such, we get Dame Maggie Smith, Hugh Bonneville, Joanne Froggatt, Michelle Dockery, Tuppence Middleton and Elizabeth McGovern. And joining them are Hugh Dancy, Laura Haddock, Nathalie Baye and Dominic West.

Simon Curtis directs, from a screenplay by Julian Fellowes as always. And Universal has released a quartet of new images from the movie, as a taste as to what lies ahead.

These images, in fact.
