1997’s Drive marks the entry into the world of 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray for 88 Films in the UK: more details here.

For fans of the 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray physical media format, a very big welcome to 88 Films. It’s made the jump to 4K discs, and its first release has gone up for preorder. That’d be Drive.

It’s not, as many of you may expect, the Ryan Gosling-headlined version. Rather, this is the Drive starring Kadeem Hardison, Mark Dacascos and Brittany Murphy.

Steve Wang directed the movie, that was first released in 1997. And whilst we don’t have full details on the 4K edition, we do know that it’s now available for preorder. It’s appeared on the schedules with a June 27th 2022 release date, and it’s available to order now.

If you’re unfamiliar with the film, the synopsis reads…

A prototype enhanced human, on the run from Chinese-hired hit men, hooks up with a dread-locked bystander, and the two of them elude their pursuers narrowly each time.
