A new producer boards the planned Dungeons & Dragons film, as it looks set to move forward at Hasbro and Entertainment One.

It’s taken a long, long time to get this far, but plans for a new film based on the classic game Dungeons & Dragons are advancing.

It’s been known for a while now that Jonathan Goldstein and John Francis Daley (Game Night) have been attached as writers and directors of the new film. Furthermore, things were bolstered too by the Hasbro company’s acquisition of Entertainment One earlier this year. EOne is now the home of the movie.

Furthermore, Entertainment One has confirmed a new deal with producer Jeremy Latcham, formerly of Marvel, and that’s had an impact on the film too. The first project that Latcham will be shepherding for the studio under this deal will be, yep, Dungeons & Dragons.

A script is believed to be in place for the new film, although obviously current circumstances leave things just a little bit in limbo. However, when cinema comes out the other side of the lockdown, look for the film to get moving relatively quickly.

More as we hear it.
