Eddie Izzard is to play Dr Nina Jekyll in Joe Stephenson’s upcoming Doctor Jekyll film: more on the project here.

Having penned her first movie last year, Six Minutes To Midnight, Eddie Izzard has now picked a new screen role. She’s going to star in the latest film from Chicken director Joe Stephenson, by the name of Doctor Jekyll. For Stephenson, it’s his first feature since the intriguing McKellen: Playing The Part, although he has the documentary The Good Drug in post-production.

Back to this project, though. Izzard will play Dr Nina Jekyll in the movie, that’s based on Robert Louis Stephenson’s 19th century novel. Scott Chambers is in the cast too, and the script has been penned by Dan Kelly-Mulhern.

The B Good Picture Company from London is backing the film, and shooting gets underway this week. No word yet on when the film will be released, but we’ll keep you posted as we hear more about it.
