Edgar Wright’s new documentary, The Sparks Brothers, will be heading to the UK courtesy of Universal’s Focus Features.

Amongst the many projects that filmmaker Edgar Wright has been juggling these past few years has been a documentary feature about the pop duo Sparks. The film in question has now been completed too, and he debuted The Sparks Brothers at this year’s Sundance Film Festival back at the start of the month. To acclaim, as well.

Off the back of that, Focus Features has moved in to pick up the global rights to the film, it’s been announcement. Focus, the speciality arm of Universal, will roll the movie out across the planet over the next year. Universal is also backing Wright’s upcoming feature Last Night In Soho, which awaits release after several delays due to, well, y’know.

Update: we also now have a UK release date too. Universal will release the documentary on July 30th in the UK, with a cinema release planned.
