Jack O’Connell and Matthew Duckett sign up alongside Emma Corrin for a new film take on Lady Chatterley’s Lover.

Sony Pictures has inked a deal with Netflix over the past few months that will see the former making films for the latter. One of the first fruits of that? A new film adaptation of D H Lawrence’s Lady Chatterley’s Lover that’s now coming together.

It’s directed by The Mustang’s Laure de Clermont-Tonnerre, with David Magee penning the screenplay for this one. It’s described as a female-focussed telling of the classic story, with Emma Corrin taking on the role of Lady Chatterley. Furthermore, we now learn too that Jack O’Connell and Matthew Duckett are joining the ensemble for the movie as well.

The plan is for filming to begin in the UK this autumn, which suggests a release at some point in 2022 (unless it’s a bigger reimagining that we though that involves a whole load of special effects and spaceships and stuff).

We’ll keep you posted as we hear more.
