Jane Austen’s Emma is getting a fresh big screen outing – and a new trailer has landed.

Arriving early next year is a new take on Jane Austen’s novel, Emma. The movie is being directed by Autumn de Wilde, and the film stars Anya Taylor-Joy in the title role.

Also in the cast for this one are Johnny Flynn, Bill Nighy, Mia Goth, Miranda Hart, Josh O’Connor, Rupert Graves and Callum Turner. The screenplay has been penned by Eleanor Catton, and in the UK, a February 14th 2020 release date has been set.

Here’s the new international trailer for the movie…

And here’s the first trailer that arrived, back at the end of November.

And we’ve got some official film stills too. These ones, in fact…

The film’s official synopsis has also been released, although as you might expect, it’s not much of a surprise!

Jane Austen’s beloved comedy about finding your equal and earning your happy ending, is reimagined in this delicious new film adaptation of Emma. Handsome, clever, and rich, Emma Woodhouse is a restless queen bee without rivals in her sleepy little town. In this glittering satire of social class and the pain of growing up, Emma must adventure through misguided matches and romantic missteps to find the love that has been there all along.

More on the film as we hear it.
