David Dobkin is to direct a film set in and around the Eurovision Song Contest, will Pierce Brosnan joining Will Ferrell and Rachel McAdams in the cast.

On the slate of Will Ferrell at the moment is a film going by the working title of Eurovision. As you may correctly conclude, it’s based in and around the Eurovision Song Contest, and Ferrell has penned the script for the movie along with Andrew Steele.

Furthermore, the brilliant Rachel McAdams is the film’s other lead.

The movie has just begun filming in the UK, as per The Knowledge, and production will continue for the next few weeks. Wedding Crashers director David Dobkin is helming this one.

Furthermore, in a sizeable new casting announcement, it’s been revealed that Pierce Brosnan is joining the ensemble. He’ll be playing the father of Ferrell and McAdams’ characters.

As for when to expect the movie? Well, a release around the time of the next Eurovision Song Contest seems rather likely. It’s being backed and paid for by Netflix, which is where it’ll debut.
