Paul W S Anderson’s sci-fi film Event Horizon is celebrating its 25th birthday with a 4K remaster and a 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray release too.
UPDATE: The original Steelbook release of this sold out very very quickly. Now we learn that the standard edition 4K release is heading to the UK on September 26th. You can find out more on that, and buy a copy, here.
Our original story from May 2022 continues…
Considering the movie was regarded as a disappointment on its original release, Paramount Pictures has certainly done well out of Paul W S Anderson’s Event Horizon over the years. The movie’s reputation has deservedly grown, and even though we’re no closer to ever finding the reportedly much darker cut of the film, the version we got is what’s led us to this point.
For Paramount has now revealed that a 25th anniversary 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray release of the film is imminent, and it’s heading our way in August.
It’s currently just a deluxe Steelbook release that’s listed, which also comes with a special pin, a patch, an Event Horizon blueprint, art cards and the film on both 4K UHD disc and Blu-ray.
There’s no word as to any additional special features, but we’d imagine the 4K remaster is the key attraction here. The set goes on sale from August 8th in the UK, and you can find more information – and order a copy – here.
