Producer Lorenzo diBonaventura gives us a fresh update on the next Die Hard film.

Development continues on the next film in the Die Hard saga, that it’s fair to say has a lot of work to do following the piss-poor A Good Day To Die Hard.  What’s been known so far is that the name of the new film is simply McClane, that Bruce Willis will star, and that it’ll follow the character both in his 20s and in his 60s.

I spoke to its producer – Lorenzo diBonaventura – last night, and asked him about the progress of the new film.

He confirmed that the project is still moving forward, and that Len Wiseman (Die Hard 4.0) remains attached to direct the movie.

diBonaventura, a huge fan of the original film and who’s worked with Bruce Willis before, told me that they now have “a really good script that’s going into the studio this week”.

He added that thus far, “they have not read it”, adding “I would be confident saying I rated it, but it’s up to them”.

diBonaventura was talking to me about his upcoming project, the new take on Stephen King’s Pet Sematary. You can read more about that in a future issue of Film Stories magazine.
