We’ve learned that BBC Four has ordered a new series of three episodes, that are about to go into production. They’ll reunite the production team of lead writer Kim Newman, producer Nick Freand Jones and executive producer John Das. And since we first learned this in September, it’s since been revealed that filming on the new episodes begins this very week.

Furthermore, we’ve discovered what the themes of the three new episodes will be. We can’t tell you the exact order, but they’ll be:

  • Pop movies
  • Cult movies
  • Brit comedies

We don’t have transmission details as of yet, and as we understand it, the plan is to have all three episodes in the can this side of Christmas. Then we can expect them at some point in 2021.

Given that the original commission was for one run of three episodes, this latest series will take the count to 14 in total, with hopefully more to come.

No news as of yet as to another run of Kermode & Mayo’s Home Entertainment Service as of yet. Fingers crossed.

More as we hear it…
