Vin Diesel confirms he’s expecting to see the script for a female-led Fast & Furious spin-off in the next few weeks.
This summer, the main line of Fast & Furious movies returns to cinemas with Fast & Furious 9. Already, you can expect Fast & Furious 10 next year too, and don’t rule out the possibility of a sequel to the successful Hobbs & Shaw spin-off, that starred Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham.
But another spin-off from the franchise may well be in the works too. Vin Diesel has been chatting about the future of the series and confirmed that “I have created a female spin-off”, adding “that script comes in next month, so we will see”.
This is likely the project that Nicole Perlman, Lindsey Beer and Geneva Robertson-Dworet were linked with writing last year. In the words of Fast & Furious 9’s Nathalie Emmanuel, “I think it should be a badass girl movie”. She added that “it’d be cool to have a sort of Charlie’s Angels vibe but with all the women. I think that’s kind of fun”.
No further news on the project at the moment, short of that it’s still in the works somewhere. We’ll keep you posted as we hear more.
