A new take on Father Of The Bride is being set up at Warner Bros – more details on the project right this way.

Remember Father Of The Bride Part 3 (ish)? It landed last autumn on Netflix, reuniting the stars of the two films in the series from the 1990s. It turned out to be a Zoom special, but the likes of Diane Keaton, Steve Martin and Martin Short all dialled in.

It did raise some speculation as to a full Father Of The Bride Part III, but as it turns out, we were following the wrong scent. Instead, another remake is on the way.

The 1991 Father Of The Bride was, after all, a remake of the Spencer Tracy/Elizabeth Taylor hit from 1950. Now, a new version of the tale with a Latin twist is on the cards at Warner Bros.

Gaz Alazraki (Club De Cuervos) is directing this one, from a screenplay written by Matt Lopez. It’ll centre on a Cuban-American family, and the tone this time will be more of a romantic comedy.

We await further details for the minute of casting, and just when we can expect the movie. More on the project as we hear it.
