Film music genius Neil Brand needs your help

Pianist and film music expert Neil Brand is one of many affected by current happenings in the world, and he could use a bit of support.

The work of Neil Brand in and around the world of film music has been a source of great entertainment and pleasure to many. From his accompaniment of silent movies on his piano, to his BBC Four television show, his love of film music is clear and infectious.

Inevitably, though, he’s having something of a tough time. Brand makes the most of his living as a pianist doing live shows, and he’s found himself struggling over the past months, as many of us have. He’s taken to the GoFundMe platform to try and drum up some funds. As a freelancer – and heck, can I relate to this! – he doesn’t qualify for government freelance or commercial help. Thus, if you’ve ever enjoyed Brand’s work, do consider giving him a few pounds if you can. The man is a genius.

You can find his GoFundMe page here.

And he’s on Twitter here, where he’s posting lots of fun musical stuff too.
