Final Destination 6 is set to zero in on the emergency services.

One of the projects set to press forward once the world finds some degree of normality again is a planned new entry to, or reboot of, the Final Destination series of movies. They came to a close with the fifth film, that was released in 2011. News of a plan to revive the series popped up last year, but there’s not been much in the way of information since.

Now, the folks at Digital Spy have been in touch with producer Craig Perry, and he’s dropped a bit more information. He revealed to the outlet that the plan is for Final Destination 6 to potentially “take place in the world of first responders”, including “EMTs [emergency medical technicians], firemen and police”, arguing that these are people who have to make daily life and death decisions.

“We rely on their good judgement, expertise and calm demeanour. So why not put those people in the nightmare situation where every choice can bring about life and death – but now for themselves?”, he argued.

There’s still no word yet on just when the new movie will get up and running, and you can read the full interview piece over at Digital Spy. As we hear more, we’ll let you know…
