With the film just weeks away, one final trailer for the big budget sci-fi spectacular Dune has arrived.

Warner Bros has released the final trailer for Dune, ahead of its October 21st release here in the UK. The film has been the source of much speculation over the last few months, with regards to whether its box office performance (given the current climate) will be strong enough to warrant a sequel.

Director Denis Villeneuve has frequently discussed his hopes for the sequel, revealing that the follow-up will focus on Zendaya’s character, Chani, as well as announcing that the script is in progress, stating that “I’m writing [the second one] now, and I feel like I’m eight years old again. That’s very uncommon for me. It’s the first time I’ve experienced it where I’m watching one of my movies, and I have a moment of deep gratitude, of deep joy, and I say, ‘Thank you, life, for having allowed me to bring that to the screen.’ [laughs] I don’t know how other people will feel about it. But me? Denis Villeneuve when he was 14 years old? Thank you”.

The final trailer then, focuses a little more on Zendaya’s character, Chani, but generally recycles much of the footage we’ve seen already.

As for the film’s sequel hopes? The solid performance of recently-released blockbusters such as No Time To Die mean things are looking increasingly optimistic for Dune. We’re certainly rooting for it when it releases in just under a fortnight.
