Catch your first look at The Rock as Black Adam, the DC comic book movie that’s been a long time in the making.

Back in March we saw Warner Bros make some sizeable changes to its release schedule over the next two years or so, announcing a wave of delays that saw some films pushed back by up to seven months. The studio’s DC Extended Universe projects were the hardest hit, with the upcoming Black Adam (which was due in the summer) now arriving in October.

Still, despite the fact that the movie seems to be taking just about forever to make it to the screen, promotional cogs are beginning to grind into motion ahead of its planned October 21st release date.

The synopsis for the film reads: ‘Nearly 5,000 years after he was bestowed with the almighty powers of the ancient gods – and imprisoned just as quickly – Black Adam (Dwayne Johnson) is freed from his earthly tomb, ready to unleash his unique form of justice on the modern world.’

Jaume Collet-Serra directs the film which will feature characters from the Justice Society of America. Pierce Brosnan is set to portray Doctor Fate alongside Noah Centineo as Atom Smasher, Quintessa Swindell as Cyclone and Aldis Hodge as Hawkman.

October is still some way away but hopefully, now the promotional machine is in motion we can look forward to Johnson finally enter the realm of superheroes.
