New trailer lands for Paranormal Activity: Next Of Kin

Paranormal Activity 7 is beginning its roll-out this month – and here’s the new trailer for the newly-named Next Of Kin.

Ahead of the latest Paranormal Activity release, Paramount has launched a trailer for the film, the seventh installment in the popular supernatural found footage horror series. The film is said to be something of a reimagining for the series, taking place in an Amish village, although in true Paranormal Activity style, there seems to be a camera conveniently in place, despite the Amish community’s general dislike for modern technology.

Jason Blum produced the film, and explained to Collider why a completely different reboot was necessary, stating that “Paramount wanted to continue Paranormal Activity, I probably would have left it alone. So they wanted to continue it, but I thought if they were gonna continue it, you gotta – it was tired, there was no way to continue the road that we’d been down. So I really encouraged all the creative people involved to think of something new. A lot of people who are going to go see the new Paranormal Activity were 3 years old when the first Paranormal Activity came out, so they don’t even know from those older movies. I thought if you were going to re-do it, you better really re-do it, not try and expand what we did all those years ago”.

The film is set to launch on October 29th in the US, just ahead of Halloween weekend, on the streaming service, Paramount+. No news about a UK release yet, but we’d expect to see it about the same time here in cinemas. Here’s the trailer for the new film…
