The part-fact, part-fiction retelling of Marilyn Monroe’s life will be arriving on Netflix in September.

Netflix has released the first look at Blonde, starring Ana de Armas as the iconic and beloved Marilyn Monroe.

Writer and director Andrew Dominik has helmed the film which has reportedly received the rather rare classification of NC-17 in the US. The film is coming to Netflix so that adult classification won’t harm its chances of getting eyeballs, and interest will surely be high to see how Dominik, de Armas and their fellow collaborators interpret the Marilyn Monroe legend.

Based on the novel of the same name by Joyce Carol Oates, the film is set to be a ‘reimagining of the professional and personal life of the enduring Hollywood icon’ with the film set to be a blend of fact and fiction. The teaser trailer is only a minute long and we can expect a more detailed look glimpse of the project closer to its release date of September 23rd.

The film also features Adrien Brody as Arthur Miller, Bobby Cannavale as baseball legend, Joe DiMaggio, Evan Williams, Julianne Nicholson, Xavier Samuel, Scoot McNairy, Garret Dillahunt and Lucy DeVito. Check out the trailer below ahead of the film’s release in September.
