Fisherman’s Friends 2: Bound For South Australia is heading into production soon.

Earlier this year, Fisherman’s Friends, the film that told the true story of a bunch of Cornish fishermen earning a top ten music hit with their sea shanties, proved a good hit at the UK box office. It grossed over $10m in Britain, and there’s the home formats release to come.

Now comes the confirmation that a follow-up is on the way. Fisherman’s Friends 2: Bound For South Australia will, well, follow the gang’s journey down under. It’ll take them from performing at Glastonbury to struggling to put their second album together. And it’ll take in a tour of South Australia.

James Spring, Meg Leonard and Nick Moorcroft will again be producing the movie, and most of the cast are expected to return. No word on a release date yet.
