Tom Hanks, Robert Zemeckis and Eric Roth are reportedly re-teaming , almost 30 years on from the success of Forrest Gump.

Back in 1994, Tom Hanks, Robert Zemeckis and Eric Roth all won Oscars for their work on Forrest Gump, the life-affirming story of one man and his adventures. Hanks starred, Zemeckis directed and Roth penned the screenplay for the film, which is still beloved by many, almost 30 years on.

Deadline is reporting that the celebrated trio are set to reunite for another project, an adaptation of the acclaimed graphic novel, Here. Whilst the project hasn’t yet found a home, interest is understandably said to be very high indeed with both studios and streaming services very keen to secure the project.

The premise of the graphic novel is both brilliant and simple, ‘Here is centered in one room and focuses on the many people who inhabit it over years and years, from the past to the distant future.’

The original book’s story takes place across an unimaginable gulf of time, from millions of years BC to ten thousand years in the future. How that will impact the scope of Hanks’ role, we’re not quite sure but we have seen him occupy multiple roles before in both Cloud Atlas and The Polar Express.

Little else is known about the project at the moment, but a bidding war could well ensure for this project given the legendary creative team behind it. We’ll let you know more as we hear it.
