From the heart of Northampton comes the terrific-looking Fortune Cookies – and the first trailer for the upcoming movie has landed.

Well, this looks really something. From first-time director Brenda Lee comes Fortune Cookies, a film that features a cast led by Carmen Pat, Beilinda Duong and Helenda Tang-Grosso.

It tells the story of a young actor who’s about to get her big break. But countering that, her family are in financial trouble, and need her help: will she appear on their favourite game show with them, to try and help them out of their money issues?

The first trailer for the movie has landed, and its synopsis. Let’s do the trailer first…

Here’s that synopsis…

Fortune Cookies is the debut feature film from Writer/Director Brenda Lee shot in Northampton by Screen Northants in early 2020, supported by BBC Children in Need. You’re a talented young actress on the eve of your big break. So would you turn down your dream stage debut to save the family business from repossession by appearing with your cringe-worthy family on their favourite television game show?

When we get news of a release date, we’ll let you know…
