Bruce Willis, Frank Grillo, and an exo-suit too – here’s the trailer for incoming sci-fi movie Cosmic Sin.

Here’s the trailer that you didn’t know you needed when you woke up this morning.

Action stars Frank Grillo and Bruce Willis team up, combined with some exo-suit action, in the upcoming science-fiction flick Cosmic Sin. Whilst it’s no secret that Willis’ output for a while now has been somewhat sporadic, both the concept and the execution of Cosmic Sin make it worth a look. Even if it borrows liberally from greater sci-fi films, both visually and thematically, we have no problem with films that stand on the shoulders of giants, especially when they feature John McClane smirking as he zooms through the terrifying void of space in the aforementioned exo-suit.

The film’s co-writer, Edward Drake has openly stated (via Movieweb) that Cosmic Sin borrows themes from the sci-fi canon and beyond, stating “the title of the film speaks to the idea that erasing another culture is a sin so unforgivable the cosmos will never forgive it. However, based on the colonization practices we’ve seen play out in our own history, it isn’t beyond reason that a similar pattern would play out when we encounter an alien civilization. In researching the concept above, I took a lot of notes from Sapiens: A Brief History of Humankind by Yuval Noah Harari, Carl Sagan’s Cosmos, Hyperion by Dan Simmons, Starship Troopers by Robert A.Heinlein’s, and Alex Garland’s adaptation of Jeff VanderMeer novel Annihilation.”

Here’s a synopsis for the film which is set to release on March 12th in the US. No UK release date has been confirmed as yet:

Cosmic Sin is set in the year 2524, four hundred years after humans started colonizing the outer planets. It centers on a retired Military General, James Ford (Bruce Willis). He is brought back into service after soldiers on a remote planet are attacked by a hostile alien fleet. The threat to the human race escalates into an inevitable interstellar war. General Ford teams up with General Eron Ryle (Frank Grillo) and a team of elite soldiers in a race to stop the impending attack before it is too late.

We’ll bring you UK release details when we hear them, but in the meantime, do check out the trailer below.
