Ryan Reynolds and Jodie Comer headline Free Guy, about a man who’s part of a videogame – the new trailer is right here.

Now set to arrive in cinemas this August is the long-delayed – for obvious reasons – Free Guy.

This one stars Ryan Reynolds in the lead role, as a man who learns that he’s part of a videogame. Not a big part either, rather just someone moseying around the background of a massive open world game. However, he wants to do something about that, and makes a play to become the hero of the hour.

Jodie Comer, Joe Keery, Lil Rel Howery, Utkarsh Ambudkar and Taika Waititi all co-start in this. Matt Lieberman and Zak Penn wrote the screenplay for the film, with Shawn Levy directing. And here’s the new trailer for the movie…

And here’s the trailer from last October, when the film was then on the verge of release…

We’ll leave you with the synopsis…

In Twentieth Century Studios’ epic adventure-comedy “Free Guy,” a bank teller who discovers he is actually a background player in an open-world video game, decides to become the hero of his own story…one he rewrites himself. Now in a world where there are no limits, he is determined to be the guy who saves his world his way…before it is too late.
