The rerunning of Friends episodes on UK cinema screens proves to be a box office success.

Ever since the TV show Friends – you may have heard of it – came to an end, there’s been talk of a cinema outing for the show. 25 years after the first episode screened, that’s finally happened. Just not quite in the way that people were probably hoping.

This month, cinemas across the country will be charging you to watch four episodes on the big screen in one go. Across three showings, four different banks of episodes are being collected together. My local cinema in Birmingham is asking £10 for you to watch them.

The first batch of episodes ran this past weekend too, and you know what? They were a box office success too. UK box office takings were £126,000, with three more batches of episodes to come. To put that into some context, Edward Norton’s new movie – Motherless Brooklyn – grossed just over £150,000 for Warner Bros in the same weekend.

Here’s what’s coming up, if you still fancy catching Friends on the big screen…

Wednesday 11th December:
The One With The Prom Video
The One Where No One’s Ready
The One The Morning After
The One With The Embryos

Sunday 15th December:
The One With Chandler In A Box
The One With Ross’s Wedding Part 2
The One Where Everyone Finds Out
The One Where Ross Got High
