Get your first real look at Kristen Stewart’s acclaimed performance as Diana, ahead of the film Spencer’s November release.

Neon has released the first full trailer for Spencer, the upcoming drama that imagines the events that took place during the Sandringham Christmas ‘festivities’ as the Royal family become aware that Charles and Diana may be heading for divorce. Stewart’s turn as Diana has already received critical acclaim with the actor already being tipped for an awards run. The film itself is set to launch on November 5th, but you can get your first proper look below.

The film is directed by the helmer of Jackie, Pablo Larraín, whilst the script was written by Steven Knight.

Whilst the popular Netflix show The Crown has covered the events leading up to the separation already, its own interpretation of the split between Charles and Diana will not be revealed until the as-yet-unreleased season five. Spencer therefore marks a time period in the relationship of Charles and Diana that could prove to be fertile creative ground, with audiences likely keen to see a dramatic depiction of the pair’s crumbling relationship.

We’ll leave you with the film’s official synopsis. You can find the full trailer below.

The marriage of Princess Diana and Prince Charles has long since grown cold. Though rumours of affairs and a divorce abound, peace is ordained for the Christmas festivities at the Queen’s Sandringham Estate. There’s eating and drinking, shooting and hunting. Diana knows the game. But this year, things will be profoundly different. SPENCER is an imagining of what might have happened during those few fateful days.
