It looks like Wonder Woman herself, Gal Gadot, will be breaking bad for Disney’s live-action version of its animated classic.
Gal Gadot, it has been announced, will be joining the live-action version of Disney’s Snow White, playing none other than the Evil Queen. The role will give Gadot, who is best known for playing the ultimate hero in the form of Wonder Woman, a chance to have some fun at the opposite end of the morality spectrum.
It sounds like fun casting to us, although with shooting not kicking off until next year, we’ll be waiting for some time before we get to see Gadot in the role. The actor joins Rachel Zegler, who is set to play the title character in the film, whilst the director of the two Andrew Garfield Amazing Spider-Man movies, Marc Webb, is helming the production.
The studio’s 1937 animated feature has proven a box office draw on several occasions when Disney brought it back to cinemas for various rereleases. No doubt the live action version will be expected to do huge numbers, as Disney continues to mine its animated classics for new live-action projects. No word on any other casting yet, but we’ll let you know more as we hear it.
