As well as a feature documentary, a movie biopic of Paul Gascoigne is in the works, the man himself has confirmed.

Work is underway on a biopic that will tell the life story of Paul ‘Gazza’ Gascoigne, it’s been revealed. An option has been taken on Gascoigne’s memoir, Gazza: My Story, and at the moment the project is at the stage where it’s looking for someone to play him on screen.

The planned film is set to cover Gascoigne’s football career and his high profile battle with alcoholism, and the man himself is involved with the feature. As he’s told the Daily Mirror, it’ll be a warts and all film, arguing “Let’s face it, I have nothing to hide. It has all been in the press, the good and bad”.

A feature documentary is also nearing completion, and that’s set to be released in November of this year.

It’s unclear just who’s behind the biopic project at the moment, but as we hear more, we’ll let you know…
