Gerard Butler will return as Mike Banning again, following the success of Angel Has Fallen.
First of all, Olympus fell. Then London. Then Angel. Each time, Gerard Butler starred as Mike Banning, and – mild spoilers – did action movie things to help bring each story to its close.
Each time, the audience turned up. Each time, money was made. And as such, Gerard Has Fallen is set to stretch to a six film boxset at the least.
Alan Siegel, who produced the three films to date, has confirmed that plans are afoot for at least three more entries in the franchise. And if you’ve not had enough Butlering, then there are potential options for the television rights to be sold for series in non-English speaking countries. Then, teased Siegel, it could all be joined up together in one big crossover event. Marvel must be shitting itself.
There’s no word yet on when Olympus Has Fallen 4 will happen, as Butler’s slate is a little bit busy at the moment. But we’ll keep you posted…
