Elizabeth Taylor, James Dean and Rock Hudson are coming to 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray, as Warner Bros lines up Giant.

Warner Bros is digging back into its archives again for its next 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray physical media release. And it’s bringing the 1956 film Giant to the format, with a 4K remaster.

The film stars Elizabeth Taylor, James Dean and Rock Hudson, and is directed by George Stevens. Quite a groundbreaking film this one, and a lengthy one, and it’s good to see it getting the premium disc treatment.

The film will be arriving on the format on June 20th 2022, although we’ve no idea of any extra features for the release. Unusually, it looks like a Blu-ray won’t be bundled into the package with the 4K disc, and thus it’s unlikely much will carry over from previous releases. Very happy to be proven wrong on that.

Still, for a film with such scenery and performances, the 4K remaster is very much appreciated. You can find more information on the release, and order a copy, here.
