Film4 is set to give a network premiere to Francis Lee’s God’s Own Country on November 11th.

From director Francis Lee, the movie God’s Own Country  won a lot of deserved acclaim when it was released back in 2017.

Lee penned the script for the film as well as directing, and it tells the story of a young Yorkshire farmer and his relationship with a Romanian migrant worker. We don’t want to say too much more than that in case you’ve not seen the movie, just to say that it very much earns its copious acclaim.

The film stars Josh O’Connor, Alec Secareanu and Gemma Jones. And if you’ve not had the chance to see it, we now learn that the film is getting its UK terrestrial television premiere.

Film4 set to screen the movie on free to air television in Britain on Monday 11th November. It’s the network premiere, and it has an 11.10pm start time.

Very much one to look out for, this. Francis Lee, meanwhile, is in post-production on his second feature as director, Ammonite. Expect to hear more about that in 2020…
