A new mix of horror and comedy is on its way, as first word lands of a movie by the name of The Little People – more here.

If you’re looking for a very funny local horror film, then we can’t recommend enough you seek out Grabbers. Directed by Jon Wright and written by Kevin Lehane, it’s a tremendous piece of work and deserves a much wider audience than it got.

Wright then collaborated with Mark Stay on his next feature, the impressive Robot Overlords. Since then, his docket has been filled with television work, but now he’s returning to the movies.

He’s making a film called The Little People, that he and Mark Stay have written. Wright describes it, as our headline suggests, as “Gremlins meets Straw Dogs”, with the plot following a pair of Londoners who head off to Ireland to a more peaceful time. Only to discover, well, goblins, and not very friendly ones.

Wright is reassembling the creatures and effects team of Grabbers for the new movie, that’s selling at the upcoming Cannes Film Festival virtual market. We’ll keep you posted as we hear more about the production. Based on the pedigree of who’s involved, we already can’t wait to see it.
