Lena Headey and Karen Gillan as a mother/daughter assassins? Take our money now: here’s the latest Gunpowder Milkshake trailer.

The second trailer has landed for the upcoming action flick Gunpowder Milkshake, starring Karen Gillan and Lena Headey as two generations of assassins that must unite to take on a ruthless organisation that has marked them for death. Headey and Gillan play an estranged mother and daughter and if the trailer is anything to go by, their chemistry on-screen could be lots of fun.

The film was shot back in 2019 in Berlin but has faced a delayed release for obvious reasons. Netflix is releasing the film in the US in mid-July, whilst over here, it looks like we’ll be getting a big screen release courtesy of StudioCanal. No UK release date has yet been announced thought.

Here’s the new trailer…

And here’s the earlier trailer from last month…

Finally, the synopsis…

Sam was only 12 years old when her mother Scarlet, an elite assassin, was forced to abandon her. Sam was raised by The Firm, the ruthless crime syndicate her mother worked for. Now, 15 years later, Sam has followed in her mother’s footsteps and grown into a fierce hit-woman. But when a high-risk job goes wrong, Sam must choose between serving The Firm and protecting the life of an innocent 8-year-old girl – Emily. With a target on her back, Sam has only one chance to survive: Reunite with her mother and her lethal associates, The Librarians. These three generations of women must now learn to trust each other, stand up to The Firm and their army of henchmen, and raise hell against those who could take everything from them.
