The star-packed Operation Fortune: Ruse De Guerre will bring together Jason Statham, Aubrey Plaza and Hugh Grant for the first time.

Well, here’s some welcome news: the title and date for Guy Ritchie’s next project have been announced, and the film is going to be arriving in cinemas in January of 2022. With a packed cast including Jason Statham, Aubrey Plaza, Josh Hartnett, Cary Elwes, Bugzy Malone, and Hugh Grant, this project looks like it could be wildly entertaining.

The film itself sounds brilliantly nuts, with Statham’s character, an MI6 agent who goes by the rather brilliant name of Orson Fortune, being paired up with a CIA tech expert played by Plaza, to stop the sale of a deadly new weapons technology that could presumably end all life as we know it.

Plaza, clearly relishing the opportunity to co-star with Statham, threw down the gauntlet ahead of filming, boldly stating: “There’s no one more bada** than Statham – and I’m coming for Statham. He better watch out. Because I’m going to destroy him, and he’s going to like it.”

Previously going by the name Five Eyes, the film has now been retitled to Operation Fortune: Ruse de guerre. Whist we’re not sure how Plaza will react to Statham’s character getting his name in the title, we did check with the Film Stories supercomputer regarding the name, and were reliably informed that ‘Ruse de guerre’ refers to an act of ‘military deception’ or ‘acts against one’s opponent by creative or clever means’. Okay, yes, we used Wikipedia.

We can’t wait to see the trailer for this one. Until then, have a look at this shiny-looking title image below.
