Halle Berry’s directorial debut will be available to watch on Netflix from November: here’s the trailer.

Halle Berry’s directorial debut, Bruised, is an MMA drama that also stars the Oscar-winning actor, and is coming to Netflix n November 24th. Whilst we’ve known the film was headed to the streaming platform for some time now, along with the announcement of a release date, we now also have a trailer to check out too.

The film features Berry as a past-her-prime fighter in the world of mixed martial arts, trying to find a measure of redemption in both her personal and professional life.

Throughout filming, legitimate MMA fighters were talking about just how seriously Berry was taking the punishingly physical aspects of her performance. The MMA athletes in question were discussing the physical gauntlet Berry had put herself through, even breaking two ribs in the process of training and filming, an excruciatingly-painful injury to  work through. Berry has been through the wringer in more ways than one too during the production of Bruised: MMA star Cat Zingano sued the filmmaker over unkept promises with regards to a role in the movie.

Netflix paid $20 million to secure the rights to Bruised, which premiered at the Toronto Film Festival as a work-in-progress. Now you can get your first look at the film ahead of its release next month.
