Filming continues on Indiana Jones 5 – but for the moment, it’s taking place without Harrison Ford on the set.

Well, this was likely to happen at some point, we suppose. Harrison Ford, flying the flag for 78-year olds everywhere, has been injured on the set of the currently-shooting Indiana Jones movie. The injury occurred whilst Ford was rehearsing a fight scene. The revelation that Ford is still shooting his own fight scenes at 78 is impressive enough, and hopefully, his injury isn’t too severe.

Disney has also provided a statement on the news: “In the course of rehearsing for a fight scene, Harrison Ford sustained an injury involving his shoulder. Production will continue while the appropriate course of treatment is evaluated, and the filming schedule will be reconfigured as needed in the coming weeks.”

The setback calls to mind the injury Ford suffered on the set of 2015’s Star Wars: The Force Awakens when a hydraulic door on the Millennium Falcon opened in error and broke Ford’s leg. The production company responsible for that error ended up admitting to criminal charges.

Separately, Ford was off the set of Indiana Jones & The Temple Of Doom for some time too, with more shots than planned in that sequel being of his then stunt double, Vic Armstrong.

This occasion however seems more like the result of a physical shoot and we wish Ford well in his recovery.

The as-yet untitled Indy 5 will be with us in July 2022, just over a year from now.
