Pinhead is heading back to the big screen, as the new version of Hellraiser finds its new director, and looks set to move ahead.

The work of Clive Barker is getting a mini-cinematic resurgence over the coming year or two. This autumn we got the delayed – due to virus matters – Candyman reboot. And also on the stove is a new take on Hellraiser, that’s been in gestation for a little while.

Some progress, then. The film is set up at Spyglass Entertainment, and it’s now got its director. David Bruckner, who helmed The Ritual and The Signal, has signed up for the film. He’s going to work from a script by Ben Collins and Luke Piotrowski, and then in turn are going off a story treatment from David Goyer. Goyer produces the film.

No word yet on when it’ll film, and obviously news of a release date is going to be a while off given current circumstances. Still, we’ll have more on the movie was we hear it…
