Bette Midler heads the cast of the new Hocus Pocus movie, that’s due later this year – and Ginger Minj will be paying tribute to her.

Filming is now complete on the long-mooted Hocus Pocus 2, that’s heading to Disney+ presumably just in time for Halloween. The film will bring back the original Sanderson sisters – Bette Midler, Kathy Najimy and Sarah Jessica Parker – as well as adding Whitney Peak, Lilia Buckingham and Belissa Escobedo to the ensemble. Also in the case are Hannah Waddingham, Doug Jones, Sam Richardson and Tony Hale.

And now we learn that the film will also feature an appearance from American drag star Ginger Minj. After finding sizeable exposure through RuPaul’s Drag Race, she’s going to be playing a drag version of Bette Midler in the movie, it’s been revealed, although further details on her role aren’t available. Disney isn’t saying anything on the matter.

The film is being directed by Anne Fletcher, who previously helmed movies such as The Proposal, Step Up and 27 Dresses. More news on the movie in due course. We might even get a trailer soon…
