A physical 4K release of the much-loved Halloween favourite Hocus Pocus is on the way, and an October release has been inked in.

There’s been some back and forth over the past couple of weeks, over the strong rumours that Disney is withdrawing its support for the Ultra HD 4K Blu-ray disc format when it comes to live action catalogue releases. Disney has denied this, but the proof will inevitably be in the metaphorical pudding.

One of the last two films it was known to be working on ahead of those rumours was an Ultra HD 4K Blu-ray release of the Halloween family hit Hocus Pocus. This has been a regular bestseller for Disney each October, and having been revealed in the US some time ago, we now get the news that it is indeed coming to the UK.

The film will be released on the 4K disc format on October 5th, and you can find it here.

The other title that Disney has planned – and is up for preorder elsewhere in the world – is a 4K disc release of the first Home Alone. We’ll keep you posted as and when that comes up for order in the UK too.
