The new Home Alone movie is called Home Sweet Home Alone, and it’s heading to Disney+ this Christmas: details here.

It didn’t go down a storm when news landed a year or so back of Disney resurrecting the Home Alone franchise for a new film. Yet don’t bet against the resultant movie being a huge hit on its Disney+ platform, as it’s going to be heading our way this year.

It’s now been announced that the new film is called Home Sweet Home Alone, and the cast features Ellie Kemper, Rob Delaney, Archie Yates, Aisling Bea, Kenan Thompson, Tim Simons, Pete Holmes, Devin Ratray, Ally Maki and Chris Parnell. Furthermore, Dirty Grandpa director Dan Mazer is behind the camera.

The film will debut on Disney+ on November 12th of this very year, and the plot follows a young boy who’s – yes! – left home alone over the festive period when his family head off on holiday to Japan. Meanwhile, a couple are trying to break into the family home to steal a priceless heirloom, and hijinks inevitably ensue.

Three months and counting, then. Expect a trailer in due course.
