A short video to help promote a bowling alley has earned its maker a trip to the Guardians Of The Galaxy 3 set in London.

Here’s a great story for a Monday morning, even more so if you happen to love The Big Lebowski and drones.

If you aren’t one of the 7.1m people that haven’t yet seen the short drone film, Right Up Our Alley, you really should. It’s an incredible piece of filmmaking that is both inventive, visually stunning and includes a cheeky homage to The Big Lebowski to boot.

It’s only 87 seconds long and you can catch it here:

Now, in a reveal guaranteed to lighten up any Monday morning, the filmmaker behind it, Jay Christensen, a Minneapolis-based aerial cinematographer, has revealed that James Gunn, director of the Guardians Of The Galaxy series and the upcoming The Suicide Squad, was so impressed with the film that he has invited Christensen to come to London when the director shoots Guardians 3 this summer.

It’s a lovely story, and testament to the fact that sometimes, passion and creativity triumph over all. Especially when you consider that, according to The Hollywood Reporter, Christensen and his studio made the film for free to help promote the newly-reopened bowling alley.

Everything good that happens as a consequence of this to the filmmaker certainly feels earned…
